Fashion: How to have champagne taste on a beer budget

OK, so let me start by saying my "champagne" tastes in fashion aren't Dom Perignon or Cristal - I'm much too pragmatic for that (plus I have kids, and don't want them to go without, so...). This means that Gucci, Prada, Chanel, etc...are out of my league. For the time being.

But I do like the nicer things: leather, silk, designer jeans that aren't laser cut in piles - and for those of you who don't know: CHEAP SHOES ARE ALWAYS A BAD IDEA. They hurt, they stink, they fall apart. There are some places you just can't skimp! So I still have Moet Chandon fashion taste. HOW am I supposed to keep up with this?

I also consider myself to be someone who suffers from fashion ADD - do any of these sound familiar to you?

1. You have a closet full of clothes with "nothing to wear".
2. You rarely wear something more than 2-3 times.
3. Getting something new (and I don't mean brand new, but new to you) is EXHILARATING.
4. Except for a few key pieces, you could easily roll over your entire closet every few months.
5. Despite all this, you still want high end, quality items.

May I present: POSHMARK!!!! This is like eBay for fashion, on steroids. You install the app on your Android or Smartphone, and once you sign up, you have access to every closet on there. I don't know the stats, but it's a LOT of closets. All women like myself,  or somewhere on the spectrum, all selling new or gently used clothes for deep discounts off department stores.

The app is user friendly, easy to post, and there are no listing fees. Listings don't time out. Poshmark takes a percentage of your earnings after the item sells. From what I've seen so far, the women on there are very nice - sharing and liking items even if they don't fit or aren't their taste so their other followers can see them. Good communication. Trades, barters, and bundles are welcome in most closets.

There is also the positive environmental/economical impact. This is a great way to recycle clothes instead of throwing them out. The money goes into the hands of other women who need it, or you can trade items without it costing a thing! This is a great idea.

Get the Poshmark app here, and if you sign up and enter my referral code BYZGI, we both get $5 in shopping credit. Happy shopping, champagne snobs!
